Travel time once again, and the theme for this week is ” SAy something about the place/city you live now”. Well I reside here in Sweden now particularly in Gothenburg, one big city in Sweden and I’m proud to say we have lots here.
Gothenburg is the second-largest city in Sweden (after Stockholm) and the fifth-largest in the Nordic countries. Situated on the west coast of Sweden, the city proper has a population of 515,129, with 549,839 in the urban area and total of 930,635 inhabitants in the metropolitan area. (from wikipedia)
What I like that marks gothenburg is the river running through the city called ‘göta älv’. Gothenburg also is a home to many students, as the city includes both the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology. Also, Volvo Cars was founded in Gothenburg in 1927.
We also have ‘Liseberg’, the large amusement park and it has lot of fun there! One of the finest attraction in the city.
And then this famous red headed building which if you can see this, you know you are in Gothenburg:) We call it ‘lipstick’ because of its form. And according to history, the city had a contest with a big prize on having that a name on the building. And “lipstick” won! cool right?
Well, thats for now I can share about our place here in ‘Tuesday Travels’. Want to know more about places? Visit us here at
